Formula Surge steel tip darts have 70% tungsten barrels with a knurled grip. The barrels are straight and centre-weighted, and the listed option is 25g.
The set contains three 70% tungsten barrels, three tempered steel points, three black ring-grip nylon shafts and three 100-micron PVC flights with a swirling abstract design.
On Point verdict
Surge is worth comparing if you like a straight, centre-weighted barrel with several types of texture. Micro cuts, knurling and rings make the grip location more important than the tungsten percentage alone. It suits a buyer who wants to compare different contact areas within a familiar overall profile.
