Tapered Barrel Darts
Compare where the barrel narrows
A tapered barrel changes diameter along part of its length. Check whether the taper sits near the point, towards the rear or through a longer section, because its position matters more than the category name alone.
Match the transition to your grip
If a finger rests near the front, compare how the nose narrows towards the point. If you grip further back, inspect the transition near the shaft. Product photos can help you see whether your normal finger position falls on a smooth section, a grip cut or the taper itself.
Check the actual measurements
The listed diameter usually gives only one measurement, so use it alongside barrel length and the profile photos. Keep your weight and other setup choices familiar while comparing shapes.
Compare straight barrels for a more uniform profile or ringed grip darts for different textures. Read the barrel-shape guide, or browse all steel tip darts.
