Straight Barrel Darts
Choosing a straight barrel
A straight barrel keeps a broadly consistent diameter through most of its length. This gives you room to compare front, middle and rear finger positions without a deep recess deciding where the grip must sit.
Compare usable grip length
Look closely at the smooth sections, ring cuts and transitions near the point and shaft. Two straight barrels of the same length may provide very different grip areas. Check that the textured section reaches the place your fingers naturally settle.
Straight does not mean identical balance
Compare each model's listed dimensions and balance information rather than assuming all straight barrels feel the same. Weight, diameter and the rest of your setup still affect the overall feel.
Browse ringed grip darts to compare grip patterns, or try scalloped barrels if you want a more defined finger reference. Our dart grip and barrel-shape guide explains the differences, and the full steel tip range offers other profiles.
