Scalloped Barrel Darts
Find a scallop that fits your grip
A scalloped barrel has a concave recess that provides a finger reference point. Compare the location, width and depth of that recess rather than choosing solely because a dart is described as scalloped.
Check the recess position
Use the product photos to judge where the scallop sits along the barrel. It should meet your natural grip without requiring you to move your fingers into an uncomfortable position. A narrow recess may suit a different finger placement from a broad, shallow one.
Compare the surrounding grip
Look at the cuts before and after the scallop, particularly if your other fingers sit outside the recess. Check barrel length, diameter and available weight so the rest of the dart suits your setup too.
Compare straight barrels if you prefer freedom to move your grip, or browse ringed grip darts for other reference patterns. Read our dart grip and barrel-shape guide or explore the full steel tip range.
